Mamadou Beye
Mamadou Marcel Blondin Beye is general manager Corporate Affairs for Chevron Middle East, Africa, South America Exploration and Production Company, based in Houston, Texas, a position he assumed July 1, 2020. He is responsible for overseeing government and public affairs; social investment and performance; and the company’s regional efforts to protect and enhance its reputation.
Beye joined Chevron in 1997 as a business analyst and has amassed over 20 years of progressive and diversified experience with Chevron encompassing Corporate Policy, Government Affairs, International Development and Business Development. He has worked in Angola, South Africa and the United Kingdom facilitating key company projects such as the West Africa Gas Pipeline and the Chad- Cameroon Pipeline.
Previously, Beye was general manager Corporate Affairs for Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Company, based in Houston, and manager of International Affairs in Washington, D.C., where he managed all Africa-related international policy and advocacy efforts with key public stakeholders and provided strategic advice and counsel in support of the company’s efforts to identify, shape and capture future growth opportunities across Africa.
From 2003 to 2010, Beye was Corporate Responsibility manager in Angola, where he played a lead role in the design, implementation and evaluation of the multimillion dollar Angola Partnership Initiative. This Public-Private Partnership initiative was recipient of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Global Development Alliance Partner of the Year award and runner-up of the U.S. Government Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence in 2006.
Beye is a frequent speaker on African oil and gas, doing business in Africa and corporate responsibility issues. He is chairman of the Niger Delta Partnership Initiative and serves on the board of the Africa- America Institute. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Rice 3600 Institute for Global Health – Rice University.
He holds a BBA from HEC Montreal and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Born in Mali, Beye is fluent in Bambara, English, French and Portuguese.
