Charmaine Villet, an alumna of AAI’s Advanced Training for Leadership Skills (ATLAS) project obtained a Master’s degree and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the Patton College of Education, Ohio University.
Charmaine is a former Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Namibia (UNAM) and the recipient of UNAM’s Sabbatical Award for the Best Academic in 2011. She is noted for her pivotal role in reforming the educational system of Namibia by leading and overseeing the transformation of teacher education, continuous professional development for teachers and national capacity development projects for pre- and lower primary teachers in Namibia. She has also contributed to educational reform programs of UNESCO and the African Union.
