Celebrating Global Africa’s History

As we celebrate the rich and diverse influences of Global Africa this Black History Month and, indeed, every day here at the Africa-America Institute, we are highlighting the powerful contributions of several remarkable individuals. Check out AAI’s social media, our website, and this newsletter to read stories of incredible Global Africans we have highlighted this month.

At the same time as we celebrate Global Africa, we find ourselves at a challenging moment. The recent reductions in international development funding present significant challenges across the ecosystem. We expect to see shifts in relations between the U.S. and African nations and are carefully watching how those shifts impact our community.

In this moment of transition, the Africa-America Institute remains focused on our work: bridging Africa and its diaspora to advance a more sustainable and equitable world. We believe that by continuing to build transatlantic bridges, we will continue to advance growth and prosperity.

As we reflect on our shared history and look toward our collective future, AAI will continue to work towards a more truthful, thriving, and interconnected world.
