Bringing Together Our Remarkable Alumni to Document Their Stories
AAI’s Accra alumni dinner convened on 18 December, 2024 at the Villa Monticello Boutique Hotel in Accra, Ghana. Alumni across different AAI programs - AFGRAD, ASPAU, ATLAS and the Ovia Scholars - were present.
As part of the dinner and in line with AAI pillars, the dinner featured a fireside chat with Professor Samuel Ntewusu, Historian and Director of the Institute of African Studies (IAS), at the University of Ghana, about some recently repatriated Asante royal artifacts to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
This event is the second AAI alumni dinners this year that are a part of our new project to construct a living archive for our organization and alumni. For several years, Kwesi Amoak, AAI’s Director of Alumni Engagement & Storyteller in Residence, has traveled across the continent to document the remarkable stories and impact of AAI’s 23,000 plus alumni. To support this work, AAI will continue to host exclusive events across the continent focused on fostering a sense of belonging and interdependence across our rich and wise community.
