Shahryar Hakimi is Senior Advisor of the Africa America Institute primarily supporting AAI’s development and advancement activities, goals and objectives as related to AAI’s corporate fundraising, engagement and relationship management efforts. Shahryar is an international lawyer with over 25 years of emerging market focused project structuring, investment, economic development and U.S. sanctions compliance experience. 

Shahryar is co-founder and partner of an international investment advisory firm based in Washington, D.C. with a global network of partners and relations in West/Central/ Euro Asia. Shahryar has served as Senior Advisor to leading emerging markets focused independent financial advisory firm and as Counsel to leading law firms. As an emerging market business development expert, he has successfully implemented international business market-entry strategies and structured cross-border transactions. Shahryar is a Georgetown University alumnus, a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and consistently and passionately supported certain public interest matters and charitable/non-profit organizations throughout his career.
